Where the locals live, with Manoel Island as your front lawn.
Gżira is the strip of coast between Sliema and Valletta — less touristed than its neighbours, more lived in. Manoel Island sits across a short bridge: a little wild, a little marina, slowly being restored.
Our one-bedroom in Gżira is in Savoy Gardens — quiet building, balcony, the right size for a couple or one remote worker. Sliema's cafés are a ten-minute walk one way; Valletta's a six-minute ferry.
Walk the perimeter — wild grass, marina, a 17th-century fort being restored.
